Company Christmas lunch in Nørrebro with quiz, DJ, and lounge activities

A cozy Christmas lunch with a classic Christmas theme for 140 employees in central Copenhagen.

Traditional company Christmas lunch with cozy Christmas decorations in Nørrebro.

Imagine a classic Christmas party in the heart of Copenhagen with cozy decorations, good food, and a festive atmosphere. That was the setting when we welcomed 140 guests to Schiller Eventspace.

In a busy everyday life where departments rarely meet, the goal was to shake things up. We wanted to create small, fun occasions, from DJ tracks and joint activities to a fun quiz that got all our colleagues out of their chairs and talking to people they normally never talk to.

A cozy company Christmas lunch

We built up the evening with a welcome that gave people time to settle in. Welcome drinks, activities, and snacks when the guests arrived. Then a luxurious Christmas buffet with classic Danish Christmas dishes. Open bar with free drinks all evening. That was the foundation. But it was the activities that made the difference.

We set up a lounge area with classic activities such as shuffleboard and beer pong. The games are easy to play, require no instruction, and encourage people to gather in small groups. A colleague from finance who never talks to anyone from sales suddenly has a natural reason to stand together.

A company quiz where everyone can participate

In the middle of the evening, we held a quiz using our "Closest To" format. All questions have a number as the answer. How many Christmas cards do Danes send each year? How many kilos of roast pork do we eat in December? The teams write down their guesses, and the team that comes closest to the correct number wins the round. The format works because it rewards strategy and collaboration rather than pure knowledge. It's not the two quiz nerds who win, but those who manage to agree on a reasonable guess, and no one knows the answer in advance.

We had set up a huge screen behind the stage. While the quiz was running, it displayed the questions. For the rest of the evening, a live fireplace was shown on the screen. It sounds trivial, but it created a unique atmosphere in the room for this Christmas party.
