On the occasion of a company's 200th anniversary, we faced the challenge of transforming an empty sports hall into a complete party venue.
A large manufacturing company approached us with a special request. They wanted to mark 200 years in the industry with a party for all employees and their partners. 300 guests were to gather for dinner, entertainment, and celebration of a rare milestone. The venue had been chosen in advance: a sports hall close to the company. Conveniently located, but also empty and soulless. No atmosphere, no decorations, no stage, no kitchen. The hall had to be transformed from scratch, and everything had to be ready on the day the guests arrived.
We transformed a sports hall into a party venue in record time
The starting point was an empty hall. No atmosphere, no festive setting, nothing reminiscent of an anniversary party. We had to transform the sports hall into a party venue for 300 dining guests with a bar, kitchen, stage, activity area, and dance floor. So tables, chairs, and bar counters were brought in and set up. The stage for speeches and live music was set up in the center of the room so that everyone could see. We set up event lighting throughout the hall to create atmosphere instead of the harsh hall lighting. Flowers, table settings, and custom styling tailored to the company's anniversary were put in place. In just a few hours, we got the hall ready to welcome guests.
Details that reflect 200 years of craftsmanship tradition
The customer had a clear desire to use local suppliers. The food and wine therefore came from producers in the local area. But it was the small personal details that made the difference. Go To Events had an anniversary wine made for the occasion and designed custom labels for the bottles to match the evening's celebration. Each table had floral decorations in glass bottles, which the company had produced itself for the anniversary.
From welcome to dance floor with lounge and cocktails
Guests were welcomed with drinks and live music. This was followed by a gourmet dinner, with host Anders Fjelsted keeping the evening lively with stand-up comedy between courses. After dinner, we opened a cocktail bar with a bar menu designed especially for the party. At one end of the hall, we had set up a lounge area with games and activities so that guests could retreat or relax between dances. A live band played, and later in the evening, the DJ took over. All this in a hall that had been empty just hours before.
