Learn to Master the Fire
Campfires and Fire is an outdoor experience where your team will learn to start and manage a fire under various conditions and to use natural materials to create a stable, efficient fire. Whether the goal is cooking, staying warm, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, you’ll gain the basic skills needed to handle fire safely.
You’ll work with different types of campfires and explore how their construction depends on their purpose. You’ll learn which natural materials are suitable for kindling, how to find dry fuel even in wet weather, and how to build a campfire that’s right for the situation.
Along the way, you’ll try out several methods of making fire, from modern fire starters to more traditional techniques using flint, steel, and a fire drill, which require patience and skill. It’s all about problem-solving and teamwork—and the truly fundamental experience of making fire with your own hands, together.
How it works
You’ll meet outdoors, where the instructors will have all the equipment ready. After a brief introduction to fire, fuel, and safety, you’ll set out to find materials and start a fire on your own. You’ll work in teams, experimenting with different lighting methods and types of campfires.
